Certainly one of the most beloved horror film of the 80s is Stuart Gordon's RE-ANIMATOR. Loosely based on a H.P Lovecraft story, we follow the misadventures of the crazy Dr. Herbert West. Now the soundtrack is finally available on cd thanks to La-La Land.

While Richard Band has composed around 30 musical scores, he will be remembered for this one but maybe not in a good way. You see, Band' sountrack sounds a little too similar to the one from Alfred Hitchcock's classic, PSYCHO. Band claims its an homage to Bernard Herrmann superb soundtrack to PSYCHO even though he directly lifted parts of Herrmann's music for his "creation".

The cd features 16 tracks, one is a 14 minutes interview with Richard Band. It comes with a nice 8 pages booklet with notes from Suart Gordon, Richard Band, Jeffrey Combs and Brian Yuzna. A must for all fans of the film.
