Review from Dimension Films/ Genius Products DVD

A few months ago, Sarah was part of a terrible car accident from which she lost her husband. Still thankfully, she didn't loose the unborn baby she carried. Now its Christmas Eve and she will give birth to her child the next day. She decides to stay quiet and alone at home in her isolated house.

The silent night soon becomes deadly has a suspicious woman knocks on her door and ask Sarah to enter inside. Sarah won't open the door but no one could have predicted what terror and mayhem the pregnant woman will have to suffer to try to make it alive from the scissor-wielding woman figure, which has a deadly goal in mind.

Over-the-top, brutal, primal, creepy, ultra-violent and unrelenting terror might be the best ways to describe this new masterpiece of horror. HAUTE TENSION, CALVAIRE, ILS, and FRONTIERE... these are some of the recent horror films that have surfaced from France. All are must see for horror fans but there's one film might actually surpass them all. This film is INSIDE.

Co-directors and co-writers Alexandre Bustillo & Julien Maury have created a film that will get into your skin and haunt you. While the film's atmosphere owes a lot to John Carpenter's HALLOWEEN (to which the directors are huge fans), it is a brutal bloodbath which contains some stunningly graphic and twisted imagery ever put on film. I don't want to spoil anything more about this new instant horror classic and will let you discover it for yourself.

Dimension Films Extreme and Genius Products have made a great decision in acquiring and releasing this film on DVD in North America. What would have been cooler would have been a theatrical release, even a limited one. INSIDE finds its way on DVD into your home in a superb transfer. The film is presented in a 1.85:1 anamorphic aspect ratio. As expected from a new film, the transfer is simply stunning! Rich color saturations, great textures and deep blacks. The original French audio track is available in Dolby Digital 5.1. It’s loud, crisp and clear. Eudes' amazing and haunting musical score really shines through the film. But most importantly I would say that the work of the sound FX and sound editing persons are marvelous! It brings a whole new level to the film... you'll understand once you see it. There is also a dubbed English Dolby Digital 5.1 track, which is ok. English and Spanish subtitles are also available.

'The Making of INSIDE' is a 50 plus minutes documentary on all the aspects of the creation of the film. It’s filled with behind-the-scenes, and interviews and shouldn't be watched before you've actually seen the film. Its one of the few very interesting documentary I've recently seen on DVD. We also get the very effective Theatrical trailer. The film is separated in 16 chapters stop. The disc features animated menus with music. There are also trailers for trailer for DIARY OF THE DEAD, STORM WARNING, and THE MIST. It comes in a keep case with an inlay card.
